Weather:Despite Baja’s reputation for fierce heat, the Pacific coast is quite mild most of the year. January-March sees clear skies, a north breeze and temperatures ranging from the 70’s during the day to the 50’s at night. A sweatshirt and fire on the beach or in the fireplace feels great at night. Temperatures gradually rise from April-July with again clear skies and temperatures ranging from the 70’s/80’s during the day to the 60’s/70’s at night. Occasional fog cools things off during this period and a sweater comes in handy at night. The environment changes in August-mid October with sporadic monsoon rains, threats of cubascos (hurricanes), high humidity and temperatures in the 90’s by day and 80’s at night. Although this is considered the low season, it is in some ways the most exciting time to be in the Baja. The desert anticipates the rain and begins to bloom. Animals unseen all year emerge, grasses grow where it was brown only a week ago and fishing is at its best. The rest of the year mid-October-January is the high season with perfect weather, blue skies and a beautiful green desert.Grocery Shopping:It is best to stock up on groceries in Cabo San Lucas upon arrival.
