Rancho Cielomar is located in the small village of Colonia Elias Calles at kilometer 79.5 on Pacific Highway 19 approximately 40 kms. (~25 miles) north of Cabo San Lucas or 100 kms. Southwest of La Paz in Baja California Sur (BCS), Mexico. (SEE MAP)

How to Get There

There are basically two airports that serve the area; Los Cabos airport in San Jose de Cabos and La Paz airport in La Paz, BCS. Each is about a 100 kilometer (~60 miles), 75-minute drive to Colonia Elias Calles. From the U.S., Los Cabos is served by Alaska Airlines, America West, American, Continental, Delta, Mexicana and perhaps others.

From Los Cabos:

Flying into Los Cabos is probably the best alternative as more airlines and flights serve Los Cabos than La Paz. Mexican officials are quite accustomed to tourists and customs is usually cursory and polite. You can pick up your rental car while waiting for your luggage to arrive. We suggest you book your car from your origin as the rates are considerably lower than in Mexico. From Los Cabos airport proceed through San Jose de Cabos to Cabo San Lucas about 65kms or 45 minutes away. Once in Cabo make sure you stock up on all your food and drinks, as there is only one small store in Colonia Elias Calles that stocks only beer and basics. There are two new supermarkets (CCC and Soriana) on the way out of Cabo on the Mexico 19 "Todos Santos" road that you take to get to Colonia Elias Calles It's a good idea to fill your gas tank as well. From Cabo follow the signs to Highway 19 "Todos Santos". Rancho Cielomar is located at Km. 79.5 on the beach side of this road. Proceed ~1/2 km. further north to the Coldwell Banker real estate office to pick up the key and receive an orientation to the area (English spoken).

From La Paz:

La Paz, while the capital of BCS, is a sleepy Mexican town. People are friendly and helpful. After retrieving your rental car follow the signs to Highway 1 "Cabo San Lucas". At approximately 25 kms. take Highway 19 "Todos Santos" which branches off from Highway 1 to the right. Todos Santos, a small but artist and fisherman town is located at km.50. You can get gas, beer, ice and basics here. We suggest stocking up in La Paz. Colonia Elias Calles is 30 kms. south of Todos Santos. Rancho Cielomar is located at Km. 79.5 on the beach side of this road. At km. 79 stop at the Coldwell Banker real estate office to pick up the key and receive an orientation to the area from the rental agents (English spoken).

Documents required to Enter Mexico:

A passport or original birth certificate is required to enter Mexico. Rules change frequently so it's a good idea to check with your airline concerning entry documents.Tourist visas are issued at the port of entry for citizens of Canada, the United States and most EU countries.
